Midland Senior Women's Golf Association

If you’ve found your way here, you’re either already one of us (a senior), thinking about joining or have pressed the wrong button – but either way, our President Jenny Deeley and Captain Helen Lowe are delighted to welcome you and take this opportunity to introduce themselves.

Jenny Deeley 400I’m Jenny Deeley and was honoured and surprised (!) when I was invited to become President of the association. I started my golfing life aged 14 at the Worcestershire Golf Club, and have been playing ever since. I have been fortunate to have lived in various different counties and regions over the years, and during that time I have participated in county first team golf for 3 different counties. On my return to the Midlands 7 years ago I joined Enville Golf Club in Staffordshire and also the Midland vets, which was a wonderful way to rekindle old friendships across the region as well as make many new ones. As a lifelong lover of the game, I was thrilled to accept this role as President, and will do my best to meet as many of our membership as I can. In the meantime, I wish you happy golfing in 2026, and look forward to seeing you on the golf course soon!Helen Lowe

I’m Helen Lowe, proudly based in Leicestershire, and a long-standing member of Scraptoft Golf Club—forty years and counting. Last year I joined Luffenham Heath Golf Club, proving it’s never too late to fall in love with a new course. Golf has taken me on quite a journey. I spent many years representing and captaining the Leicestershire and Rutland 1st team—let’s just say the exact number of years is a detail best left in the rough! During that time, we reached the county finals four times, and I was fortunate enough to win the LRLCGA County Championship twice.

But perhaps the biggest surprise of my golfing life came when I turned 50. Suddenly, I found myself eligible for senior golf—and what a revelation it turned out to be. Stepping into senior golf felt like rediscovering a favourite old clubhouse: familiar faces reappearing, new friendships forming effortlessly, and the chance to play wonderful courses with people who truly understand why we all love this game.

Since then, I’ve been fortunate to represent the MSWGA Jamboree Team every year of my senior journey, winning the gross championship twice. I threw myself into senior golf wholeheartedly, playing in both the England and British Senior Championships. To my complete astonishment, I won the England Senior Matchplay in 2015 and the England Senior Strokeplay in 2018—moments that still feel slightly unreal. Those wins led to the honour of representing the England Senior Ladies Team at the European Team Championships and the Home Internationals. As a consequence of one of those new friendships I have also been successful in the Brenda King Foursomes, another great event for seniors.

Senior golf has given me experiences and friendships I never expected—and I hope it offers the same to you. I look forward to meeting you somewhere between the tee, green and clubhouse.
