A large contingent of Midland Vets arrived at Harrogate Golf Club on 3rd October to contend the 36 hole foursomes. There had been a lot of rain and the course played long and tough on the practice round, with high winds and trees blowing down. We all approached day 1 with trepidation hoping to keep the ball in play and return some respectable scores. The winds weren’t as strong but the course played long and tough and scoring was difficult. Last year's 2nd time winners Jo Shorrocks and Amanda Mayne proved scoring was possible with a 74, followed by ex midlanders, Janet Melville and Jo Ashmore, 7 shots behind. Day 2, the rain didn’t stop and scoring was tough.

Last years winners retained their title, with Caron Harrison and Sue Spencer taking the Best Nett prize and Caroline Corrigan and Bev Chattaway taking the Day 1 Gross prize.
