The following Midland Vets played in the British Senior Ladies Championship at Caldy Golf Club from 14th to 16th September 2016:

Julie made a brave defence of her title, reaching the turn in 36, one better than Laura Webb, the winner. A bogey at the 13th was followed by her best run of the final round with birdies at the 15th and short 17th –before a double cost her a sub par round. She equaled the best score of day 3 with 74 and finished as runner up.
Helen Lowe was the only other Midland qualifier for round 3 and finished in 26th place.

Order of Merit

After her runner up spot Julie Brown now moves up to 4th place on the Seniors Order of Merit and gains automatic selection for the Senior Home Internationals. Julie along with Helen were the 2 captains picks at the recent European team championships, where England took the bronze. Helen is in 9th place and has recently got captains pick for the Home Intenationals to be playec in Alyth, Scotland. We wish them both good luck.
